How to Access the Inventory Dashboard
The Inventory Dashboard provides a clear, data-driven view of how your retail products are performing. Use this dashboard to understand retail revenue, inventory value on hand, and top-performing products so you can make informed purchasing decisions, reduce overstock, and maximize profitability.
Locate the Reports section in the top navigation toolbar. Click Reports, hover over Insights Hub, and select Inventory. This dashboard surfaces key inventory and retail performance metrics to support smarter inventory management.

The Inventory Dashboard provides a clear, data-driven view of how your retail products are performing. Use this dashboard to understand retail revenue, inventory value on hand, and top-performing products so you can make informed purchasing decisions, reduce overstock, and maximize profitability.

Using the Dashboard
Dashboard Controls and Navigation
At the top of the Accounting Dashboard, you’ll find global controls that apply to the entire report.
Use the Filter (funnel) icon to filter the dashboard by:
Location
Date range
Select the up arrow icon to export the full dashboard as a PowerPoint or PDF, making it easy to share financial insights with owners, managers, or accounting teams.
Review the last updated date and time to confirm when the dashboard was most recently refreshed. Accounting dashboards update automatically every few hours.
Widget-Level Filtering, Exporting, and Drill-Down
Each widget includes its own interaction options:
Expand arrow to open the widget view
Funnel icon for widget-level filtering
Table icon to display data in table format
Ellipsis menu for export options
Individual widgets can be exported as CSV, Print, PowerPoint, or Excel. You can also click directly on metrics within widgets to drill down by location or employee, helping trace financial activity back to its source.
Year-Over-Year Comparisons
Some widgets display a percentage with an upward or downward arrow. These indicators represent year-over-year comparisons that dynamically adjust based on the selected date range. For example, filtering to the current month compares results to the same month last year.

Section-Specific Metric Overview
Key Inventory Summary Metrics
At the top of the dashboard, you’ll see several high-level inventory metrics:
Total Retail Revenue: This is the sum of all retail sales minus refunds for the selected timeframe.
Units Sold: The total number of retail units sold.
Units on Shelf: The total number of units currently in inventory.
Inventory Turnover is calculated by comparing the cost of products already sold against the value of products still sitting on your shelves. This metric helps you understand how efficiently inventory is moving and whether products are over- or under-stocked.

Retail Revenue Trends
The Retail Revenue Over Time widget shows how retail revenue changes across the selected timeframe. In this example, the data is grouped by month, allowing you to spot seasonal trends and growth patterns.
Revenue Mix Over Time provides a comparative view of sales across the selected period, helping you understand how revenue composition shifts over time.

Inventory Valuation Metrics
The On-Hand Valuation widget calculates the total value of inventory that is currently on hand and has not yet been sold. This is critical for understanding cash tied up in inventory.
Average Gross Selling Price represents the average selling price of items across all invoices before discounts.
Average Net Selling Price represents the average selling price after discounts have been applied.
Together, these metrics help you evaluate pricing strategies and discount impact.

Top Products Performance
The Top 10 Products by Revenue widget shows your highest-performing products based on net sales minus refunds.
The Top 10 Products by Volume widget highlights products with the highest number of units sold across invoices, regardless of revenue.
These widgets help identify best sellers, pricing opportunities, and products driving volume versus profit.

Key Inventory Metrics Table
The Key Inventory Metrics section provides a detailed, product-level breakdown for all products sold within the selected date range, including:
Total units sold
Current inventory level
On-hand valuation
Average units purchased per day
Estimated days left in inventory
Inventory turnover
The Estimated Days Left in Inventory is calculated using your average daily sales rate and the current on-hand quantity, giving you a forward-looking view of when products may need to be reordered.
