Patient Registration through MyAppointmentNow

patientNOW offers an option for a new patient to schedule an appointment and create their record in patientNOW. When your license was configured for myAppointmentNOW, the patientNOW team checks the box to allow new patients. If you do NOT wish to allow new patients to schedule, be sure to tell the patientNOW team member who configures your license.

You may also invite a patient to use online scheduling with the myPatientNOW Invite. For additional information, check out Sync Patient with MyPatientNOW.

You will want to make sure that your email invitation includes the correct links. For additional information, check out Customizing Email Templates with the Patient Portal Link.

Matching Online Scheduling Patients with patientNOW and Duplicate Prevention

When a patient registers on myAppointmentNOW, the information is compared to existing patientNOW patients on 4 fields:

  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Email
  • DOB (Date of Birth)

A perfect match on all 4 fields links the myAppointmentNOW account to the patient account in patientNOW.

If 3 out of 4 fields match, myAppointmentNOW will ask the patient to review the field that does not match for accuracy. If the patient provides information that still does not match to patientNOW, the patient is considered New.

If the Date of Birth and Email match, the patient is asked to review the First Name and Last Name for accuracy. If the patient provides information that still does not match to patientNOW, the patient is considered New.

If the patient is considered New, a new patient will be created in patientNOW and linked to the new myAppointmentNOW record. If you have NOT allowed new patients to register through myAppointmentNOW, the patient will get a message to call the office to schedule.

Merging Duplicate Patient Records

If the patient enters inconsistent information and creates a duplicate record, you can easily merge the records. For additional information, check out Merging Duplicate Patients
