Introduction

With PatientNow’s integration with Cherry, practices now have an alternate option to offer a buy now, pay later solution. Cherry boasts an 80% approval rate with an easy patient registration process. Patients can get up and running with Cherry from their mobile device in no time, allowing them to spend more with less stress.

Integrate Cherry with PatientNow

Step 1: Register the Practice with Cherry

  1. Please contact support@patientnow.com to register with Cherry.
  2. PatientNow will organize a demo and training with Cherry.
  3. Once approved and trained by Cherry, the practice is ready to get started!

Step 2: Retrieve API Key and Connect to PatientNow

Once the application has been approved by Cherry, retrieve the API key and enter it into PatientNow.

  1. Log in to the Cherry partner portal at partner.withcherry.com using the email and password created during the registration process.
  1. Navigate to Settings.
  2. Click Generate API Key.
  1. Name the API Key.
  2. Copy the API key. 

NOTE: Do not click “Activate” until the API key has been copied.

  1. Paste the API Key into PatientNow. Click Connect in PatientNow.
  1. Click Activate in the Cherry partner portal.

  1. Cherry will now be displayed in the Patient Information tab for every patient.

Disconnecting Cherry

If at any time the practice would like to disconnect Cherry, they may do so by clicking Disonnect next to the API Key at Back Office > Financial > Cherry.

Looking up API Key

If a practice needs to lookup their API Key, they may do so by clicking “Can’t find your Cherry API Key?”  at Back Office > Financial > Cherry. Then follow steps 1-8 of “Step 2: Retrieve API Key and Connect to PatientNow” above.

Refreshing Locations List

The list of locations using Cherry is displayed in the Back Office > Financial > Cherry tab. If any chance to locations occurs, click Refresh to view the new list.

Using Cherry

Patient Application

PatientNow allows usersf to send patients Cherry applications directly from the PatientNow Windows Client.

  1. Navigate to the appropriate patient’s Patient Information tab.
  2. Click Apply for Cherry.
  1. In the pop-up window, type in the patient’s phone number.
  2. Click Send Application.

  1. The patient will receive a text message with a link to apply. Inform the patient to click on the link and follow the prompts.
    1. If the patient already has a Cherry account, a window will appear with their status. Click Link to Patient Record in the pop-up. Otherwise continue to step 6.

  1. When the patient has finished the application process, click Check Status to update the application status in PatientNow. 

  1. The patient’s Cherry balance will be displayed in the box.

Paying with Cherry

Patients may pay their invoice with Cherry. Cherry’s allows payments of $200 – $10,000.

  1. Set up the patient’s invoice as usual.
  2. When checking out the patient, if they would like to use funds from their Cherry balance, click to select Cherry. 

Note: the patient’s Cherry balance is displayed next to the button.

  1. Inform the patient to press the link sent and choose their payment method.
  2. Click Dismiss.

  1. The Payment section will display Cherry and will read, “Processing”

  1. When the payment has been successfully processed, the Payment section will read, “Approved.” 

  1. Note: it may be necessary to right click the payment line, and click Check Status.

  1. Please note that payments by Cherry may not be refunded, deleted, or voided.
